He was willing to provide the components of the roof that I wanted. He has decades of experience in roofing and is even listed on the Malarkey shingle website. The roof was better than I hoped for, it turned out wonderfully. The crew was very skilled and hard-working and did a great job above and beyond the call of duty and expectations! They even cleaned out my rain gutters! The clean-up afterwards left my yard cleaner than it was before! I am very happy with the color and appearance of the Malarkey Vista shingles. The antique brown is a blended brown, a quiet and solid looking finish to my home remodel! It will not dramatically grab attention from the rest of my planned home exterior. Really should the roof be the most dramatic and focal point of the home? Research showed that Malarkey shingles were on the top lists for quality and longitivity, especially in cold and windy climates. These shingles are very flexible and will not crack, like my previous ones did. I especially like that they have two rows of adhesive to resist wind. I have seen my former shingles of another brand crack and stand straight up after a wind storm. Some even blew off. The shingles are a bit more expensive than some others at times, but since they last longer, there is financial gain in not having to reshingle every 10 to 15 years. These could realistically last 30-40 years in Northwest Montana. Since labor is about half the cost of a roof, the savings in labor alone are substantial.
